Bombay Palace

26th June 2008....

Today after work, CH went to Bombay Palace for dinner. Bombay Palace is a chain restaurant selling fine north Indian cuisine. They exist in USA, Canada, UK, Hungary and Malaysia. The Malaysia outlet is located on the busiest road in Malaysia, Jalan Tun Razak.

The difference between South and North Indian food is:
a) North Indian Food doesn't serve on Banana Leaves
b) North Indian Food not as spicy as south Indian food
c) North Indian Food is prder to make
d) North Indian Food is much more expensive than South Indian food!


The appetizer:
Papadam with 5 choices of sauces - 4/5 pts
Luna's favourite: Long Island Ice Tea, anyway, this one not up to Luna's expectation.

CH must have beer with the spicy food
The 2nd appetizer: Salad with Indian Yogurt dressing - 4/5 pts



And here start the main course with Naan:
Tikka Fish - 3.5/5 pts
Tandoori Chicken - 4/5 pts
Red bean cooked in unknown sauce - 3.5/5 pts
Semosa - 4/5 pts
Naan, the "roti" to wrap with the dishes - 4/5 pts


And here start the 2nd main course, with Basmati Rice - 4/5 pts:
Mutton Curry cooked with Pineapple - Nice! The mutton really soft - 4.5/5 pts.
Black Bean Dharl - 4/5 pts.
The Indian waiter dressed in North Inidian attire serving the food.
Chicken Curry - 4/5 pts.


Cheese in Spinach - 3/5 pts.
And this is...... already forget what is it la...
One of CH's fren sweats until he looked like this:
Aha! And here it comes the dessert, Mango Ice Cream! Really delicious, the mango taste really "kaw" - 4.5/5 pts

Raju @ Jalan Gasing

14th June 2008...

Today, good colleague of CH come from HQ to Amcorp Mall to look for CH for lunch.

Due to his sincerity, CH decided to bring his somewhere special.
There they went to the Raju @ Jalan Gasing, PJ.

The spicy and fragrant masala mutton - 4/5


Masala Chicken. Hope both masala meat won't bring any masalah(problem) to CH - 4/5


And this is CH's favourite - Deep Fried Fish egg - 4.5/5


The foods selling here are quite delicous. But there's only one thing CH not happy: the restaurant tend to overcharging customer since it become famous.

Yala, become famous is "dai sai" liao. So what? If you're not happy, dun come to eat here la, I still got plenty of customers!

Kanna Curry House, Sec 17 PJ

29th May 2008....

This week dunno why CH addicted and crazying for curry!
Even at the night when dinner, CH suggested Luna to go and have dinner at Indian Curry House. The Curry craze Luna agreed also.

So they went to the Kanna Curry House at Sec 17, PJ. This shop is already quite famous, a quite lot of curry crazy will go there and enjoy the curry.


CH and Luna ordered Mutton in Masala to share. Since already had the curry rice, CH unlikely to take more meat coz this will increase CH's body burden.


The curry rice on the banana leaf are ready! The curry selling in this shop is really thick in both flavour and concentration. Star rated - 4/5


Nice curry always accompanied by Crispy and spicyness extinguishing Papadam


CH notice that most of the indian curry shop start to sell the Indian Mango, which heard to be very sweet and soft. Must try one day.

Curry Rice Tasting at Subang Jaya

April 08....

The curry rice addicted CH went to taste out some of the curry rice selling house at Subang Jaya.

1) Sri Devi @ SS15


The curry is thick and flavour-ful. The ayam masak kicap and chicken liver here are tasty. For vege, pumpkin ok, but cabbage and spinach so so only.

CH rate this curry rice 4 stars (out of 5 stars)


2) Chinese curry rice with fried chicken @ Wong Shun Kei, SS14. This stall only opening from 3.30pm till 6pm. But within that period, you will simply see people queueing for the curry rice or curry chee cheong fan, both of them are delicious! Special credit gives to the fried chicken. It is crispy and nicely fried. It is just more than finger licking good!

CH rate: 4 stars

3) Sri devi @ SS14
Although is the same owner with the one at ss15, but the curry here seem very thin. Vegetables so so. The chicken masak merah, tandoori, mutton are good.

This shop get 3.5 stars

Palace d India @ Queensbay Mall

11th April 2008....

CH company has got a project in Penang and kicking off right away. The O & M team buying Project team a lunch as a welcome lunch to them.

They went to the Palace d India in Queensbay Mall at Bayan Lepas, Penang. The restaurant located at the northest of the mall. This restaurant has another 2 branch, one at Penang Street in George Town, and another at Bangsar, KL. This restaurant selling Northern Indian Food. Most of the royal family in India staying in Northern of India, that's why their food is notably deluxe compared to the usual indian food, like what we can have in the mamak stalls.


The appetizer: Papadam with Mint Sauce. The papadam really nice to take with the spicy indian mint sauce. There's someone already can't wait to grab the suace before CH finished taking the photo.


Appetizer 2: Deep fried vegetable in Northern Inidan Coating


Main course: Tandoori Chicken. The chicken was nicely cook, which made the meat very soft.

Naan. The Naan here are fresh made, and it is soft and thin. CH loves it.

CH taste bud underwent a spicy and herbsful journey. CH was astonishingly surprised by the good combination of the herb done by Northern Indian which produced such a nice thick and tasteful curry. Anyway, CH notice that the dishes they ordered were almost the same. CH will try to order more variety of dihes for his next visit.

P/S: While CH walking back to his office, CH noted there's one newly open theme restaurant. The theme is: Toileteries. The rice served in a camberpot and orinal bowl. You dare to try? The idea of this restaurant is very innovative, but CH do not expect much on the quality of the food they served.
