Ozeki @ Jalan P.Ramlee

18th August 2008...

Today is dear Luna's birthday, for sure CH and Luna will go to "high-class" Japanese restaurant to celebrate Luna's birthday. CH and Luna unanimously selected Ozeki at the end(or beginning) of Jalan P. Ramlee. It is located just a 5-minute walk from Luna's office. CH dined at Ozeki before. They offers variety of fine Japanese cuisine, authentic dining environment, and most importantly, the price is reasonable. Thanks to KC for treating CH the raw horse meat last time.

Ozeki was magnificently decorated with plenty of magnum Sake bottles.

The menu was attractive as it's complete with nice photo and Japanese wordings.

The caring restaurant served the snack appetizer FOC as CH and Luna were browsing through the menu.

Luna's eyes can't get off from the menu. Ozeki really offers plenty of choices.

Onsen Tamago Salad @ RM 18 - Salad with soft boiled egg with KIMIJIMA dressing. Forget about where/what is KIMIKIMA, the dressing was so delicious! After it mixed with the half boiled egg, it makes the perfect salad dressing. CH & Luna felt like be in Onsen as they enjoying the salad. Notably to mentioned that the noodle at the bottom of the salad makes the best combination to the salad. 100 pts! *The best salad CH ever had.

Gyokai To Mango No Tarutaru @ RM 32- Mixed of fresh raw seafood, mango and salted kelp with sea urchin flavour. The mixed raw seafoods are really fresh. The freshness of the seafood makes a the seafood super flavourful, soft and fine. 95pts!

Spicy Fire Tuna Maki @ RM 28- Spicy Tuna Roll - Chopped tuna and Korean spicy pickles roll with very spicy fresh chillies. This one mama, and not spicy at all(For Malaysian). CH not going to talk much about this. 70 pts.

Another ultimate delicacy, Fois Gras! CH doesn't really know how to describe the taste of the Fois Gras, CH only can tell that the Fois Gras in Ozeki really heavy in "Fois Gras" taste. It was soft and tender. CH loves playing the Fois Gras around on CH's tongue. 100pts!

Tai Chazuke @ RM22- Rice topped with sliced snapper in hot green tea & fish stock soup. The soup taste very plain but rejuvenating. The soup become much more tasteful after CH mixed it with wasabi. 95 pts!

Some words from Executive Chef:

Wish dear Luna have a nice birthday dinner. And happy birth to Luna!

Tonight is the final night for CH's parents visit in KL. At the beginning CH planning to bring them to Sunway Pyramid to have some Japanese Sushi at Sakae Sushi, but CH also encountered same difficulties with DICK, Sunway Pyramid was "people moutain people see"ed. Want o know more about situation that day can click here : http://d1production.blogspot.com/2008/06/roxy-summer-splash-2008.html

Due to the incident, CH changed his plan to the Aoyama - The Green Room Japanese Restaurant at Sri Hartamas.

The green interior of the restaurant.

1) The Aoyama Salad - green salad with Japanese dressing. 4/5 stars

2) The deep fried tofu with fresh oyster inside. Tasty with the fresh oyster! 4.5/5

3) Tuna Sashimi with lady's finger. CH didn't order this. May be is a compliment from the restaurant. 4/5

4) The bento set order by CH's sis. 4/5 stars.
Clcokwise from top left: The cooked-salmon makimono, fried chicken with white sauce, rice in yellow colour , ajitsuke idako(baby squid), and salmon & tai nigiri sushi.

5) Summer maki - 4/5 stars. The rainbow maki at this restaurant still the best.

5) The.... sashimi, ebiko, tofu, unagi, and mix vegetable on the rice. 4.5/5 stars.

The price for all above is RM140. Which was quite reasonable for a japanese restaurant.
Sorry to Luna that she wasn't here tonight because this is her most favourite japanese restaurant.

Kampachi @ Pavilion

27th May 2008...

CH decided to spend his RM25 Pavilion Voucher at Japanese Restaurant in Pavilion - Kampachi.

Kampachi is actually the Japanese restaurant for Hotel Equatorial. The Kampachi start their 1st restaurant outlet at Pavilion. CH heard from Furby that Kampachi is awarded one of the best Japanese Restaurant in Malaysia. Hmm... Must faster walk in to give it a try.

CH and Luna in the Kampachi

Kampachi offer nice and elegant dining atmosphere

The first dish: Appetizer: Shake Kawa Salad - Salad with Salmon skin and salmon roe with some "fu-juk"(deep fried beancurd skin), topped with the japanese sour sauce. CH loves the mixture of the sauce and the freshness of the salmon roe when it exploit on CH's tongue.

The second dish is Luna's favourite - Rainbow Maki - The sushi row with salmon, tuna and avocado. This maki was well-prepared and presented. Can see the colour of tuna, avocado and salmon forming the colour of rainbow. And mochiron desu(of course), this maki taste very nice.

The third dish is the Gyuniku Tataki, medium raw - The beef steak topped with japanese soy sauce, deer fried garlic and turnip.

The forth dish ordered by CH - Japanese Cutlet Curry Rice. This dish surprised all of them. The curry tastes really nice! It might be as tasty as CH's favourite indian curry. It will be listed in CH's "more eat more hungry" list. From CH and Luna taste bud, they guess it consists of two special ingredient, which is apple and coffee.

The fifth one ordered by Luna - Shake Oyako/Wakadori. It is the rice topped with fried salmon and salmon. Again, the tasty and fresh salmon, always that tasty. No need CH to talk much about it. From the ingredient CH thinks you guys can know how tasty it was. :P

The Shake Oyako/Wakadori comes together with 3 pieces of fried chicken.
Total bill for abovementioned dishes was RM 189.75. After minusing CH's RM25 voucher was RM 164.75. Oh yeah, all abovementioned dishes are for 3 person. Forget to mention Luna's colleague also joined CH and Luna for this dinner. All of them went to Bookfair at KLCC after that.
There're display of various kinds of japanese tea leaves at the entrance of Kampachi.

Valentine's Day @ Eyuzu Japanese Restaurant

14 February 2008....
Today is Valentine's Day. It is a special day for CH and his very dear Luna. CH already booked the awarded "Best Japanese Restaurant in Malaysia" at Eyuzu in Eastin Hotel, PJ one month ago.
CH and Luna reached the Restaurant at 7.00am. Dont talk much. Let's CH introduce the dishes they ordered.

The very kind restaurant served us the cold Sake to drink along the meal. Thanks to them for the pink rose as well.

The first one is the Kampachi(Amberjack) Sashimi @ RM70. The sashimi is very soft and the texture of the meat is very fine. When CH bite it, a lot of juice and taste of the Ambackjack exploits.

Next is the Sashimi Tuna with the Wasabi and Soysauce @ RM20. The Tuna Sashimi is juicy and the meat is nice to bite, but is much more rough compared to Amberjack.

Third is the Eyuzu Roll @ rm35. The deep fried Soft-shell crab rolled with seaweed, flying fish roe and mayonnaise. The soft-shell crab and flying fish roe is really fresh. It is tasty!

The night is falling. Outside the restaurant is the Japanese Garden to give the customer really Japanese dining atmosphere.

Forth is the Kinoko(mushroom) teppanyaki @ RM35. The mushroom is fresh and delicous, but the seasoning is a little bit over.

The inner atsmosphere of the restaurant.

This is Dear Luna's all time favourite. The Chawan-Mushi @ RM12. Luna says it taste good with the Maidenhair tree fruit.

Sixth comes to the Toufu Soup @ RM15. Nothing fantistic for the taste of the soup. It is really plain and light. But may be this is how the Japanese like it to be prepared. Anyway, the toufu taste special. Try to mix the toufu with soysauce.

Seventh Miso Shiru @ RM10. Taste good. Very strong of Yeast taste. Luna and CH like it.

The final one goes to the Teppenyaki Kobe Beef @ RM200. CH thinks everyone already know about the Kobe Beef. Kobe Beef is the beef from the black Tajima0suhi breed of Wagyu cattle, raised according to strict tradition in Hyōgo Prefecture, Japan. They feed the cattle with beer and sake, and apply daily massage to the cattle to get the result of tender meat. CH first time such a wonderful meat. The meat is astonishingly tender and no kidding, the raw part of the meat melt on the Tongue of CH and Luna, and the juice of the meat which full of fresh meat taste flowing and fats around their tongues. What a perfect meat!

Luna looks so happy after the Kobe Beef. As long as Luna is happy, CH will be happy as well.

After the meal, CH and Luna buy a bottle of Australian Chardonnay and enjoy their Valentine's Night at home. CH and Luna takes this opportunity to wish everybody Happy Valentine's Day! Especially to Eddy Tan and Furby. Hehehee...
