Birthday dinner with dear @ Cameo, Venue Semantan, Damansara Heights

23rd April 2008...

CH decided to spend his birthday dinner one day earlier with his dearest Luna(Coz CH can't wait to visit this restaurant). They went to Cameo @ Venue Semanthan(Peninsula Residence), Damansara Heights.

Very kind waiter put them to the only table in front of the aquarium tank.

Charming interior of the restaurant: calm, grand, and romantic with very fine finishing.

CH & Luna ordered cocktails. Long Island Iced Tea & XXX(Forgot the name, but it made of Bacardi, Coke, and Lime)

And now start the food session. CH is regret that the photo taken doesn't look nice bacause of the low brightness in the restaurant.
The appetizer : Anatra Fegato - Duck liver with sour sweet sauce(taste like asam prawn sauce in chinese cuisine) with granny smith apple. The duck liver was very soft and tender, but CH really taste it's flavour if compared with goose liver.

Deep fried egg plant with black olive and sundried tomatoes. CH loves the sun dried tomato. And the egg plant was nicely fried.

Zuppe di Funghi - Wild Mushroom soup with Truffle Oil & Garlic Cheese Stick. Very thick flavour in this soup. CH never tried truffle nor truffle oil before, therefore he can't really figure out the truffle flavour in the soup

Aglio Olio - Nice spaghetti with nice olive oil

Pesso Ci PedroFarcito Con Spinaci - Chicken Breast Stuffed with Gruyune Cheese, Sauteed Potato, Garlic Spinach and Spicy Tomato Sauce, a traditional french way to cook chicken breast.
CH loves this main course. Believe CH, when CH writing for this dish, soliva keep on flowing from CH mouth. The chicken breast was nicely cooked to make it just soft, and the cheese in the breast meat really matching the flavour of chicken and the spicy tomato sauce.

Italian Pinot Gris to drink with the dessert

Blueberry pudding - CH loves this dessert. The pudding was very soft, and the flavour of the pudding was really "kaw"(concentrated) and make it best match with the blueberry jam and the caramel on the surface layer of the pudding. What a wonderful night to have this dessert with the Pinot Gris.

CH was saticfied for the dinner tonight except the two cocktails. It costed CH RM227, but luckily CH got the dining voucher worth RM100. One thing to mention, the waiter here have a good food knowledge and very considerate to diner. For example, CH only order one soup, but they asked CH whether want to seperate the soup into two to make CH and Luna convenient when enjoying the soup. Anyway, the waiter communication and serving skills still can be improved.

And... thanks to Luna to celebrate CH 25th birthday with him to make his birthday a "happy birthday".

P/S:
Fat and Clumsy Gold Fish keep on swimming in the aquarium.....

Secret Escape to Market Place, KL.

Today is Friday, which is not a good day for working. So the Thirsty CH and one of the colleagues decided to go down to KL and look for girl and wifey of the colleague to hunt for good food for our New Year lunch.
We went to Market Place suggested by wifey of my colleague. It is a new, and hidden restaurant @ Jalan Yap Kwan Seng. It is just right behind of the famous Kepala Ikan stall.

The decoration of the restaurant is quite Modern, yet we can feel the serenity from it’s fine landscape and watery design. At the night, this place will turn to lounge & pub, and a good place for few friends to hang around and have some wine & liquor. Top of the Restaurant is the Balcony feature, which allowed you to enjoy your drinks accompanied by watching the twinkling light of the Twin Towers.

We totally have no idea on the food written. Therefore, we order 3 types of tasting platter which allow us to taste almost all the gourmet served in the restaurant.

The Three Platter:

1st Platter:
From Left to right:
1) Tuna Sashimi with Mango slice, savour your tongue with thick, juicy, fresh tuna sashmi.
2) Tuna Mayo Bruschetta, the mixture between tuna and mayo was quite well-done.
3) Lamb meatball with tomato sauce, The smell of lamb meat mix thoroughly with tomato sauce, best to serve on a bread.
4) Dunno what exactly what kind of vege is that. Attracted by the smelly Goat Cheese ingredient.
2nd Platter:
From Left to Right
1) A super tender medium rare beef steak! Even not a beef eater luna also like it very much.
2) The "Kacang putih" salad
3) The lamb tenderloin, Luna's favourite.
4) Avocado sushi topped with ebi roe (Crab egg)
5) A fish cube, dunno what fish is that, but the fish is very soft until u can bite it using your tongue.

3rd Platter:
From top to bottom:
1) The raw squid with vege and sour sauce dressing.
2) Steamed fish, dunno what fish is that, but still can remember the delectable taste of the fish.
3) Mushroom fried with sauteed sauce. The flavour of the mushroom completely goes into the sauteed sauce. Must try to dip the bread with the sauce.
4) Fried prawn with garlic and unknown herb. The prawn is nicely cooked, very nice to chew inside your mouth.

With these 3 platter, two bowl of mushroom soup, and 4 drinks(non-alcohol), the bill is RM200+. It is slightly high, but worth for the food and the environment. The kind restauranteur gave each of us their french chill-out music CD made by them after paying the bill, quite a good-feeling music, thanks to him! Will visit this place again someday!
