Restoran Taiping Lang

5th June 2008....

Today CH's parents come to KL to spend their Agung Birthday Holiday. On the first night, CH had a good idea, which is bringing them to have dinner at the Restaurant Taiping Lang, which mean "people who born in Taiping".

Recently CH read a review on the newspaper, and telling that this restaurant is quite good.
So... Why not just go in and have a try?

The entrance of the Restaurant with traditional banner board.

The restaurant offers authentic style dining ambient. Notice there're quite lot of old folks having dinner here?

The Menu, please notice that the Menu will be different from day to day. There're totally 3 sets of menu.

At the back of the menu is the introduction of this restaurant, which emphasize on the home-cooked, old-styled flavour.

Display of antiques in the restaurant gives enhancement on the authentic feeling.

CH ordered this cincao(herbs jelly) with selasih.

At a corner of the restaurant with one dining family.

CH ordered 2 sets of the 2-persons set meal, and here's the dishes:
(with tastiness rating, eg. 4/5 mean the dish got 4 stars out of 5 stars)

1) Fried egg with pickled carrot - 4/5

2) Today's special - home-style fried chicken 3.5/5

3) Fried fish cooked in very sweet sour soup 3.5/5

4) Stew pork - 4.5/5

5) The Taiping's people specialty - Bak Kian (Pork roll) 5/5!!

6) The sambal with ikan bilis 4.3/5

7) The "kian cai buey", which mean, left-over dishes cooked with salted vegetable 4.5/5

8) Sai Yong Choi soup - 4/5

Again, another close-up with the delicious bak kian

Blurrp! What a happy, worth-memorizing, and satisfying meal. With all the above dishes for 5 person, it cost CH less than RM100.00. So anyone dropped by Puchong and hunting for home-styled, traditional food, please don't forget to drop by at Restoran Taiping Lang!

P/S: Forget to mentioned, CH and families are from Taiping as well. But for sure that didn't affect CH justification on this restaurant.
