Escape to Phuket - Day 3, James Bond Island, Panak Island and Caves Caves.

20 May 2008...
Today is the third day CH and gang at Phuket. Itinery for today's trip will be:

James Bond Island -> Canoeing @Phanga Bay, Panak Island -> Lunch on ferry -> Snorkelling

But due to rainy and cloudy weather, the tour replace the snorkelling itinery to visit of another. Well, that shouold be more fun, since CH found snorkelling not a main attracting activity at Phuket Island.

After the breakfast end at 9pm, CH and gang took a 1hour van ride to the dock to take the ferry. Although is 1 hr long, they didn't feel it took a long time since everybody fell sleep in the van.

Immediately they hooked onto the ferry and start the ferry ride to James Bond Island. CH and gang very glad that today's boat is much more better than yesterday one(Phi Phiisland trip). Stable ride, spacious(can walk around), with toilet, free flow of coffee, tea, fruit and biscuit, and tips-free staff. Good!

The tour leader/head of ferry/PR of ferry briefing on today's trip.

The scenery around the Phanga Bay. Full with small island and cliffs, similar to Halong Bay in Vietnam. CH named the "chinese cabbage" cabbage no.1.

There they reach the James Bond Island after a 1 hour ride. The wooden coming to fetch them to the James Bond Island.

This is where exactly the James Bond Movie(if CH not mistaken is James Bond no.2) took scene. It is famous with the "chinese cabbage" on the middle of the lagoon.

Another spot on the island - the high-rised and high gradient rock walls. CH not able to photoshoot the entire wall since he still haven't got his wide angle lens.

The british lady with her son waiting to get into the boat.

There they back onto the ferry and took ride to another destination - Panak Island. Yeah, free flow of banana on the ferry.

After 45 minutes ride, there they reach the Panak Island. The staffs on the ferry waiting to fetch all the tourist on the boat.

Most of the time the boat will go through this cave under the big cliff. Sometimes, the ceiling of the cave is very low until CH and Luna have to ly down completely, but the ceiling of the cave is still 1mm away from CH's belly. Believe CH.

Nice and wondeful scenery will appear infront of you while you coming out from the caves.

Eddy and Furby in the cave.

This is another cave. This time, they have to walk thru it to another paradise.

Very generous ferry staff explaining the structural of the cave to CH.

After a 5 minute walk only exit to another wonderland. Salute of Eddy and Furby can walk thru the cave without any lighting.

CH surrounded by pretty girls. Thanks to the ferry staff handling CH's G9 quite well.

A living startfish found on the shore of Panak Island.

Finally they came back to the jetty. Time to go back to Hotel after a wonderful and tiring trip.(Tiring because of enjoying too much)

Take a freshwater bath at Hotel's swimpool first before wash up for dinner

After wash up, CH and gang went out to hunt for food at the Third Road of Patong Beach, Nanai Road. The third road is much more silent compare to first and second street. But it is, a silent or "kampung" street can easily find nice food, like this:

The local Sausages, two choices: Glass noodle and Pork.

And this: The local Thai restaurant

First dish: Thai Green Curry Chicken (spicy rating 6/10)

Second: Seafood salad with Thai sweet sour dressing(very spicy, spicy rating 9/10)

Third : The Tom Yam Gung (spicy rating 7.5/10)

Forth : The raw vegetable dip with "belancan" in phuket style with dried shrimp (spicy rating 10/10)

Fifth: Stir fried sliced pork with basil leave (spicy rating 4/10)

Sixth: Kengsom grouper - Grouper cooked in assam soup with coconut "heart", ginger, assam, and various herbs and vegetables. (Spicy rating 7.5/10)

Seventh: The previous dips in phuket really delicious, so CH decided to order another vegertable dip, with different sauce, this time he ordered the belacan with mini shrimps. (Spicy rating 10.5/10)

Note: You won;t feel the spicyness of this dish at the beginning. Only after about 10 minutes later your tongue will start struggling from spicyness.

The total for all above only cost them 1300 bth, whicch mean around RM18 for 1 person. This restaurant worth recommending. It is just situated 5 minutes walk downhill from the Club Bamboo Restaurant.
After that, CH and gang went back to Thaweewong Road(Patong First Street), have some leisure shopping and then went to massage again. This time, CH choose the Oil Massage, and the messeur did quite well also this time. CH is very lucky in finding a good messeur.
After the stress-releasing massage, CH and gang wentback to hotel and have a white wine and junk food party. Everybody become lightly-drunken and went back to sleep. Expecting tomorrow's half day Phuket city tour.
Bon nuit!
