Escape to Phuket - Day 4, Karon Beach, Kata View Point, Wat Chalong, Phuket Town, Airport

21st May 2008....

Well well, today will be the last for CH and gang in Phuket. Their itinery today:

Karon view Point @ Karon Beach --> Kata View Point @ Promphet Cape --> Wat Chalong --> Phuket Town --> Airport

CH and gang already book a 12 seaters MPV to ride them to all above spot from 8am until 2pm. The charges of the MPV only 1700bath. It's quite worth it right? Think about the taxi from Hotel to Airport already cost them 1000bath.

Glad to tell that the condition of the MPV was very good. Spacious, well-maintain, and driver was good. Drive slow and steady even though he only knew how to speak Thai.

The first spot, Karon View Point @ Karon Beach.

Karon beach is unlike Patong beach. Karon beach is more suitable for couples. Karon beach offers romantic and calm environment unlike hussle-bussle Patong Beach. Nice and luxury can be easily found at Karon beach.
The second spot - Kata View Point. Kata View Point or Promphet Cape located at the southest point of Phuket. If offers good view to the blue and sparkling Andaman sea with some Isles.

At the viewpoint, there's four-faced buddha surrounded by tons of various types elephant sculpture. Elephant are known to be one of the god of Thai budhism. CH and gang also did a prayers overthere.

Then they proceed to the next spot, the Wat Chalong.

There're elephant statue at the entrance to the Wat Chalong.

The wishing ribbons being tighted at the branches of wishing tree. The follower believes that the higher you tight on the tree, the higher the possibility his/her wish will come true.

The magnificient view of Wat Chalong. It looks new, and most the building coated with gold paint.

The stalls selling coconuts juice and souvenir around Wat Chalong.

One of the stall selling nice souvenir.

And there Luna met this "Pee"(which mean uncle in Thai) selling the glutious rice in bamboo.

Luna bought one for Anything-edible-CH @ 10 bath each. Thanks to Luna. It taste quite ok.

After Wat Chalong, they took another 30 minutes ride to the Phuket Town. The first thing they did is to find a shop for lunch.

There they found this shop:

For sure, they only order local Thaifood: (with star deliciousness rating, eg. 4/5 means 4 out of 5 stars)
1) Kao Liao Soup (Pork Mix Soup) - 4/5
2) Seafood Jam(mix) - 4.5/5
3) Green Chicken Curry - 4/5
4) Mango Jam(mix) - 4.5/5

5)Thai Belacan Fried Rice with Salted Egg - 4/5
6) Kuey Teow Phad - 5/5
7) Deep fried Prawn - 3.5/5

8) Belacan Fried Rice with Stew Pork - 4/5
9) Spaghetti with Green Curry - 3.5/5
10) Stew Pork with Rice - 3.5/5
11) CH and gang still missing the vegetable dip with belacan yesterday night, therefore, they order another one here - 4.5/5
CH strongly recommend this restaurant to every visitor to Phuket. Nice food, clean, restaurant, nice service, reasonable price, with strong guarantee by amount of local visiting this restaurant.

After lunch, the girls went for last minute shopping. CH found nothing to do, then he ordered Mango with Glutious Rice at the stalls outside the restaurant.
Fresh mango before transformation
Mango after transformation into Mango with glutious rice topped with coconut milk and sesame. CH found the 4 interesting points out of this mango dessert:
1) Sweet and soft mango
2) Fragrant Sesame
3) Nicely cooked glutious rice
4) Tasteful coconut milk
which made this mango glutious rice rate 5/5.

This is where the girls spends their time(and money) for shopping - EXPO(If you want to come here, just tell the Taxi driver go to EXPO, they will know that). It was just a street across the restaurant.
And that's the end of today, and the phuket trip itinery - go to airport and back to Malaysia.
