Our original plan for this party is only 6 person, which is eddy, woody, ah sien & sien and me & luna. Very surprising that the number keep snowballing. And there're totally 12 person attend the party on that night. Which gave the waiter a hard time to squeeze out additional table and chair for us.
We went to the Las Carretas @ Damansara Height. We are practicing "share the food and share the bill", which enable everyone to try out as many as possible kind of foods served in this Mexican Restaurant.
The first appetizer: Nachos with Shredded Chicken. The Tortilla Chips mix with the shredded chicken and topped with melt cheese. Quite similar to the one I've had in Italy.
Second to come is the Mussels In Coriander & Habanero. The most attracting part for this dish goes to the spicy soup. I still can remember that I've ordered 2 basket of garlic bread for them to dip with the soup, and already finish by my fellow "frens" before I manage to grab any bread.
I was told by the waiter if their Margarita is best in town, if not, he will chop-off his head. The waiter manages to save his head after all.
Third Starter: Senor Pablo Salad, quite impressed by what they called "Pablo" dressing. (With luna's red finger nail on the top left).
The main Course:
1) Taco: Two Pieces of Fried Corn Tortilla Filled With Minced Beef
2) Chimicanga: Crisp Fried Tortilla Bursting With Plenty Of Cheese, Minced Beef Or Chicken, & Topped With Enchilada Sauce Guacamole And Sour Cream. Yummy yummy Crispy Tortilla.
3) Beef Backrib: Marinated With Chili, Jalapenos & Our Unique Blend Of Seasoning & Char-Broiled To Perfection. "A must try" says CH Tan after Tunku Razman.
4) Fajitas : Something like Mexico version of Local Po-Piah. The Stuff include Cajun Flavoured Chicken/Sliced Beef Steak, mexican rice, vege, Sour Cream, Salsa, Guacamole, Cheese And remember to wrap it with the "po-piah", the warm Tortilla.
There're some nice dish which I didn't manage to take photo, which is a must try also:
1) Oyster Originale : Freshly-flown in from N.Z.. Try to ask the kitchen for "sambal"!
2) Charbroiled US ( Choice ) Corn-Fed Rib-eye: Recommended to serve medium rare, feel the juice of the steak!
3) Fois Gras: The goose liver. Can be served as appetizer or topped on the steak.
To all my friends that night: Luna, Eddy, Woody, Ah Sien, Peggy, Ah Mei, Tyng Yan, Wen Yao, Wai Kuan, Hui Mei, Xin Tong, and whoever I know but unable to attend our gathering/new year dinner, Happy New Year 2008! It's great to know you, and be with you all that night!
