Breakfast @ Kay Bee

2 February 2008....

There are three breakfast in Kay Bee, Kelantan strongly recommend by CH.

1st:

Nasi Lauk by Wuai Chui. This stall is famous in Kelantan, and everybody calling it Wuai Chui. Why they called it Wuai Chui? Please find out from Local Kelantanese.
CH already addicted to the curry when he first tasted it when he was in primary school. Everytime he came back from KL, first breakfast in Kota Bharu must be this Nasi Lauk. The chicken is cooked long enough with the curry. All the curry flavour mixed thoroughly into the chicken. The pack-up of this nasi lauk will make this rice more delicious to eat. One bungkus(packet) will never be enough for CH. This nasi lauk will make CH "more eat more hungry".

2nd:
The noodle soup opposite of the Buddha Association. The soup is light and noodle is soft and slippery enough and there are lot of stuff like fish ball, meat ball, dried beancurd and tau ge and bla bla bla.. CH like to eat it with adding a big amount of vinegar chilli sauce. Try it!

3rd:
The kao jam, which mean mix rice literally translate in English. Kao jam is a rice cooked with 5 types of herb and spice, that's why the rice appeared to be greenish. The "kao" is to be mixed with minced coconut, minced fish, budu(fermented stale fish juice), mixed cucumber, "mani" vege, onion and lemon grass, with optional chilli and keropok(The fish biscuit). In Thailand, this dish is used for grand ceremony like wedding birthday and celebration. According to CH's kao jam making auntie, in Thailand, they might use up to 100 ty[es of spice and herb to make thos kao jam. For whoever from Kota Bharu, There are several stall you can buy this kao jam:
a) The breakfast shop at the left(as you facing chung cheng) of chung cheng school's main entrance.
b) Beside the Standing Buddha at Tumpat.
c) The stalls along Jalan Kebun Sultan
