Hanoi day 2 - Chuc Mung Nam Moi 2008

7 February 2008…

CH take this opportunity to wish everybody “Gong Xi Fatt Chai” and “Chuc Mung Nam Moi”(Happy new year in Vietnamese Language.

Today is the off-day for residents at Vietnam. The road is empty like never before. CH took this scarce opportunity to take a picture standing on the middle of the road.

Since most of the shop wasn’t open today, CH already arranged a day-trip to Halong Bay. The trip cost around 20-30USD per head include taxi transfer to Jetty and lunch.

After around 1 hour ride, the taxi stop at rest station and CH had another breakfast there, the Instant Beef Noodle and black coffee. So so only..

After another 1 ½ hour ride, CH reached the Jetty. Before hop onto the bateaux, CH and the followers had a Chinese styled lunch. The squid and the spring are worth to mention.

This was the bateaux CH took.

CH and parents on the roof of the bateaux.

Countless of bateaux

The pity hawker on the bateaux selling their fruit by chasing the touring bateaux.

CH knew this French guy called Nicholai. He is a solo traveller.

Inner masterpiece of one of the cave in Halong Bay.

The scenery of Halong Bay. Beautiful with it’s countless plateau.

The Halong Bay bateaux ride was a lengthy one. Around 5pm only the bateaux back to the Jetty, and took another 2 ½ hour back to old town of Hanoi. CH and family totally agreed to have the Sliced Chicken Noodle Soup as dinner again. This time the shop selling the glass noodle and the “egg before lay by the chicken”.

After dinner, CH and family went for some walk around the old town and tried another stall selling the “chee cheong fan”. This one done not so good compared to the day before one.

When CH reached Hotel, it was just around 10pm Malaysia. But CH already tired and feel a little bit sick. He took a cheap Bia Ha Noi and have a quick-fallen-sleep.
