Hanoi day 3

8 February 2008….

Today was the final chance for CH to walk and shop around the Hanoi town.
This sherbet before breakfast made CH sick for whole day.

CH and family decide not to take hotel buffet breakfast and went hunt for hawker food around Hanoi market. CH took this beef soup cooked with tomato with noodle. Quite tasty also.

This stall banned by CH since they try to kill CH with their high price. Boycott this stall plz!!

Another delicious bread seller. This time CH choose the chicken floss and sliced meat. Still the omelete one better.

The coffee shop @ Hanoi. Please note that all the chair were facing the street. This is because last time the Vietnamese have to listen to the announce from the street for the US army attack.

There’s one type of famous and expensive coffee that CH didn’t try. It is the coffee seed eaten by the odour rat and produced through it’s shit. CH didn’t manage to find it. But if it present, CH sure will try it.

The glutious rice used for praying purpose.

At a corner of morning market.

The raw "egg before lay".

The street along the lake side. Really feel like in Paris Champ’s Elysee.

The lake at the City Centre.

Take a coffee break by the lake side. Really feel like in Paris.

CH and family went for lunch @ Everything is Bun at the lake side.

The traditional way to drink Vietnamese Coffee.

The curry spice fried rice.

The sliced duck noodle soup.

The tri color self-made spring roll. Waitress cutting the meat for CH.

Wrap the ingredient with the rice paper.

Try this "tri-color" as dessert.

Lunch seemed not enough for CH. CH took another steamed chicken bun to fill his stomach.
After some walk and shopping, CH and family went into the Gecko and had a break with some cocktail.
Clockwise from top: The mocktail, B52 Blend, White Russian and Sparrow Dalat Vietnamese Red Wine.

The fresh and deep fried spring roll.

The old eat gate.

The liquor drinking shop. Clockwise from top right corner: Lizard liquor, Gin seng liquor, Cricket liquor, star fish and sea horse liquor, bean liquor, snake liquor and Laughing Buddha.

Try this "bak bao" as you walking along the streets in Hanoi.

The night already falling. CH and family took a French dinner @ La Salsa.

The ambient of the restaurant feel like a home.

CH opened Grand Vin de Bordeaux, Chateaux Bouteilley year 2005.

First tapas : The steamed clam. The soup was really tasty.

Second: Blue and Goat Cheese. Try the cheese with red wine.

Third: Mushroom cooked with Sautéed sauce.

Forth: The fish "Escapade"

Fifth: soup of the day, Cauliflower soup

Sixth: The Pork Rib.

Final one is the duck confit. The duck meat was nicely cooked, and the skin was crispy and tasty. Full of duck taste. The potato once you tasted it will make you mouth watering.

All the above cost them 720,000 VND, which was RM150 only. It was very cheap the one red wine!

Tonight was the final night for CH and family to be in Hanoi. After they had their dinner, CH parent decided to use this final opportunity to buy the local made decorative.
The decorative selling in the shop.

So... It was already late night, CH and family went back to hotel and had a warm sleep.
The next day morning they took a 9.30am morning flight and flown back to hot hot Malaysia.
Hanoi in Vietnam was such a nice place to travel. Their living style and culture were really a new experience for CH. CH strongly recommends this place to all travel lovers!
